Amy EvansMy 2 Cents’ Worth: Discovering a Home The moment I set foot on Seattle Pacific University’s campus, I knew it was a special place. Not only is it set in a gorgeous location, but it also offers a sense of community, authentic Christianity, strong academics, and exciting events all in one package. I was searching for a whole experience, and that’s exactly what I found — a place that valued balance and the well-rounded development of its students.At SPU, there are many opportunities for growth both inside and outside of the classroom. From stimulating academic discussions to an array of activities on campus, there are many ways to be involved. And let’s not forget that the whole city of Seattle is just waiting to be explored! Some of my most profound personal growth experiences at Seattle Pacific came through my student-leadership positions. I was empowered as a student to take on responsibility and enjoyed learning along the way. The skills I gained through these experiences are still benefiting me today. Between balancing classes and activities, college years were a whirlwind of late nights, deep conversations, and tons of laughter. I feel blessed to say that I went to school in a community where people cared about me and wanted to see me succeed — professors and friends alike. I was challenged intellectually, pushed spiritually, and had a blast socially. And it all started the day I visited SPU and realized it was the place I could call home.
