2010-2011 Highlights
Facing No. 1 On the Road? No Problem
The Falcons opened the NCAA West Regional men's basketball tournament against No. 1 seed Central Washington on the Wildcats' home court in Ellensburg. SPU, seeded No. 8, pulled off a stunning upset, 76-63, advancing to the second round.
How Sweet It Is
At the NCAA women's soccer tournament, the Falcons advanced all the way to the Sweet 16.
Silver Lining of Success
In the program's silver anniversary season, the SPU volleyball team won its first 16 matches, advanced to the NCAA West Regional final, finished a record-setting 26-3, shared the GNAC title, and wound up with two All-Americans in Anna Herold and Nikki Lowell.
Way to Row
Working five new rowers into their eight-oared shell, the SPU women went to the NCAA regatta for the third straight year, and wound up winning the Petite final on the last day.
Beaming in the Finals
Seattle Pacific's gymnasts made it to nationals for the 29th time in the past 30 years, and came home with a fourth-place team finish.
Eight Is Great
The Falcon women won the GNAC indoor track and field title for the eighth straight year. SPU is the only school to win the crown since the conference began sponsoring an indoor championship meet in 2004.
Slow Start, But a Fast Finish
After starting the season with no wins, four losses, and two ties, the SPU men became the hottest soccer team on the West Coast, winning 10 games and having two ties in the final 12 games to finish second in the GNAC.
Worthy of the Honor
Ali Worthen won six GNAC titles (two indoors, four outdoors), became an All-American in the heptathlon, and was named SPU's Athlete of the Year.
