Getting Settled
My first taste of life at Seattle Pacific University
When I first came to school, my intention wasn’t to meet everybody — but at the same time I wanted to meet everybody! I mean, we’re all in college. We’re all at the same point in our lives. And the programs, such as Welcome Week, really helped us to get to know each other.
1. This is me in Gwinn Commons with my now daily cheeseburger and a bunch of guys from my floor in Emerson — aka the Bro-Ho.
2. Enjoying another day with my fellow Emersonians.
3. You feel a sense of community just by walking around campus.
4. Here I am in my USEM (University Seminar) class, which has the longest title ever: “From Rampaging Monsters to Anime: An Intro to Japanese Culture.”
5. CityQuest is a part of Welcome Week, and it’s also where I made my first batch of brownies — ever. We went to a local ministry called “Coffee Talk,” where people practice their English.
6. I got this Snuggie at Fred Meyer for only $5! I had a coupon, plus they gave all SPU students 30 percent off at the Fourth Annual Fred Meyer Extravaganza.
7. This is my very first time doing laundry. Quarters now have a whole new meaning.
8. A mix between Rock Band and Halo 3 is what brought the Bro-Ho together.
