Your Admission Checklist

*This checklist is for students admitted for Autumn Quarter. If you were admitted for another quarter find your checklist here.

First, access Banner and set up your account

Step one. To log onto Banner, you will first need your computer credentials. To find out what they are, visit spu.edu/FindMyID.

  • To log in, you will need to enter your SPU ID Number or your SSN and birth date in MMDDYYYY form. If you do not have a SSN, please use your tax identification number (TIN) or SPU ID number instead.
  • Pick a password, and provide your current email address so we can send you login details for computer resources including Banner, Blackboard, and email.
Step two. After completing the above steps, you can log onto Banner. This is SPU's online location to check your grades and transcripts, and to enroll in classes.

It is also where you will fill out your emergency contact information:
  • Go to spu.edu/banner or access Banner from the Online Services menu on most SPU webpages.

  • Enter your SPU Username and Password which you received via email after completing the first step.

  • Once in Banner, click "Personal Menu," then click "Update Emergency Contacts," and input the people you'd like notified in case of an emergency.
If you have any problems accessing the Banner Information System, contact Computer & Information Systems at help@spu.edu, Lower Marston Hall, 206-281-2982.

Submit your $200 advance payment by May 1st

Make your payment online at spu.edu/advancepayment or send the payment to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in the return envelope provided, along with your enrollment response card. Your payment is due May 1, unless you are admitted after April 1. (In that case, your advance payment is due within 30 days of your admission, and must be made before you register for classes.) The payment will be credited toward your first tuition payment and secures your place for the school year. This payment becomes non-refundable after May 1st.

Sign up for New Student Advising

(Complete the tutorials and assignments once they are available in April)

New Student Advising is a required event for new students. This is your opportunity to get advised on and registered for your first quarter's classes. These events are held on specified dates in spring and summer. Register promptly to reserve your space. For your convenience, we also offer events in cities across the U.S. in July, and phone and Skype appointments are available to those for whom travel to an event presents an extreme hardship. It is our strong recommendation that students attend an in-person New Student Advising event when possible. Check spu.edu/nsa for details.
