Autumn Sports Are Just Around the Corner

FOR THE FIRST TIME
, both the Seattle Pacific University men’s and women’s soccer teams begin the season by playing two August doubleheaders. Cal State Dominguez Hills brings its teams to Interbay Stadium August 28, and Cal Poly Pomona follows on August 30.

The SPU women, who were eliminated by Dominguez Hills in the NCAA playoffs last season, will take a 14-game home win streak into 2004. The men are seeking a return to the playoffs following a three-year absence.

Volleyball, with four starters back from a 15-10 season, plays its first eight matches in California before hosting Seattle University in the GNAC opener September 10 at Brougham Pavilion. Cross country commences with the Emerald City Open September 11 at Lower Woodland Park.
