Undergraduate Programs

Academics

The School of Theology offers two majors: Although the majors share a common core of courses — which facilitates double-majoring — each also includes an array of specialized courses suitable to its distinct focus.

We also offer six minors: A minor in one of these areas will enrich the Christian perspective of a student’s chosen major and strengthen the connection between one’s faith and one’s life in the workplace, home, church, and world.

For those interested in living and working in multicultural settings, we offer an International Service Certificate.

Admission to Majors or Minors

To qualify for a major and/or minor in the School of Theology, students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in all previous college credits and must have attained at least a B- grade in a University Foundations course.

A student must complete the major or minor requirements in effect when the student is admitted to the major or minor.

Requirements for all School of Theology majors and minors are in addition to meeting the University Foundation requirements.

Doug Koskela, Assistant Professor of Theology

To a great extent, courses in theology involve the academic exploration of the beliefs and practices of Christianity. At a deeper level, though, theology is about God — it aims to recognize what the living God is doing in the world and in our lives. In that light, I encourage students, both inside and outside of the classroom, to develop their “spiritual senses,” by learning the Christian story from Scripture, the creeds, and church practices and history.
