SPU Clubs and Organizations

For purposes of ASSP, a club is defined as a group of students that meets regularly for a specific purpose and shares a common interest. Officially registered clubs must meet certain criteria. For information on club criteria or starting a club at SPU, contact the Vice President for Campus Activities (206) 281-2498.

Acting on AIDS
Acting on AIDS brings awareness to SPU campus about the HIV/AIDS pandemic through forums and campus events. Acting on AIDS brings hope to each student by informing them on how they can make a difference in this crisis today.

African Connect Students Union (ACSU)
ACSU's main goal is to foster pan-African unity through events promoting dialogue about advancement in social, economic, political, cultural, spiritual and intellectual awareness. Through this dialogue the club hopes to contribute to the development of the African continent.

After Choir Flava (ACF)
Taking a note from SPU's popular Gospel Choir, After Choir Flava brings fun and excitement through expressing individual faith through song and dance.

American Chemical Society
SPU's chapter of the American Chemical Society is designed to promote advancement in all branches of chemistry, through research in chemical science and industry.

Amnesty International (AI)
SPU's chapter of AI provides an opportunity to join more than 700,000 persons of many faith backgrounds in more than 150 countries in this mission to uphold human rights across the globe.

American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)
ASID is a professional organization for interior designers. The SPU student chapter allows students who are interested in or majoring in interior design to learn about the professionals and businesses that make up the field of interior design.

AUSBE (Associated Undergraduate Students of Business and Economics)
AUSBE seeks to promote professional business accomplishments within a Christian framework; to serve as a liaison between the School of Business and Economics (SBE) students and SBE faculty; to provide opportunities for spiritual development and fellowship; to promote future leadership; and to create professional development opportunities through guest speakers, seminars and career counseling.

Beta Alpha Psi
Beta Alpha Psi provides services and resources for accounting majors and those interested in the accounting profession. This club offers a variety of events such as social get-togethers, speakers, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, Spring Banquet and Meet the Professionals Night.

Cabaret Club
The Cabaret Club strives to further the students' appreciation for the arts through the learning, performing and expression of the Cabaret and musical theater genres.

Celtic Society
The Celtic Society is dedicated to the promotion and celebration of Celtic Christianity and culture. The Celtic Society provides this through fun campus events and forums.

Centurions
Centurions is a fellowship of male students who meet weekly to explore Christian masculinity on the SPU campus, and the service that such identity demands. The club sponsors several events throughout the year and consists of approximately 40 upper-class students who have been accepted into membership based on their demonstration of leadership, scholarship and character.

Circle K
This is SPU's chapter of Circle K, which is an extension of Key Club International. The club provides opportunities for promoting community service, leadership and fellowship within its members.

Club Med
This is SPU's chapter of the Christian Medical and Dental Association. The purpose is to bring focused discussions led by community Christian doctors, a mentorship program and information about how to get involved in medically related volunteer/mission programs to pre-medical and pre-dental students.

End to Hunger
SPU's chapter of Heifer International is dedicated to build community, care for the earth and end world hunger by helping people practice sustainable agriculture.

Experience Dance Project (EDP)
EDP seeks to generate art through dance to enhance the SPU artistic atmosphere. All dancers of any level, style or ability are welcome!

Falconettes
Falconettes is the oldest club on campus. It serves the women students on campus and consists of upper-class women who are dedicated to community service, leadership and prayer.

Fashion Group
The Fashion club strives to help students show their talents and develop further skills in the hopes of one day becoming the next Dolce & Gabbana.

FCS Pre-Professional Club (Family and Consumer Science)
FCS is dedicated to providing for and promoting the professional development of students in Family and Consumer Sciences through exploration of history, careers and many other opportunities.

French Club
The French Club provides an environment for the further appreciation of the French culture by assisting SPU students in speaking the language and by organizing events that promote French consciousness.

Ohana O Hawaii Club
The Hawaii Club is for anybody and everybody who likes to eat, talk and/or learn to dance the hula and Tahitian. Everybody is welcome and need not be of Polynesian descent or to have lived in Hawaii.

IEEE Club (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)
IEEE seeks to prepare each student for their future by bringing opportunities for educational, technical and professional training for students interested in electrical, computer or related engineering professions.

IJM (International Justice Mission)
IJM is committed to raising awareness of world-wide injustice issues on our campus and in the greater community. IJM seeks to understand God's passion for justice and how we can join God in seeking justice.

Ivy Honorary
Ivy Honorary is a senior honor society that promotes excellence in leadership, scholarship and service. It is one of the many chapters of the Mortar Board, a national honorary for senior college students.

MOSAIC
MOSAIC is a group of students from various backgrounds committed to establishing cross-cultural bridges at SPU. MOSAIC develops multicultural events and social activities, as well as explores and dialogs about issues of cultural and ethnic diversity to better understand ourselves and the world.

MuKappa
MuKappa supports missionary kids (MKs), pastors' kids and transcultural kids as they adjust to college. MuKappa provides an environment where these students can build friendships and have a support group to aid them. This is a service-oriented club focusing on SPRINT team support, international student outreach, mission and cultural awareness and urban ministry in Seattle.

Nordic Club
The Nordic Club is a group of students dedicated to the promotion and celebration of the culture of the Scandinavian countries through activities both on and off-campus.

NAPS (Nursing and Pre-nursing Students)
In the demanding nursing school, it is important to have opportunities for career development and mentorship. NAPS provides both of theses things while developing community among nursing students.

Nutrition Club
Nutrition Club strives to increase nutrition awareness and competency among the SPU community by providing hands on nutritional information, career development forums and discussion of current nutrition topics present in the media.

Outdoor Club
The Outdoor Club seeks to provide opportunities for students who are interested in building a community of like-minded outdoor enthusiasts.

Photography Club
The Photography Club welcomes anyone with a love of cameras and photos to find new inspirations and new skills.

Political Union
The Political Union seeks to inform students about political issues based on God's truth. The Political Union promotes discussion of issues in the campus community and encourages participants in the local, state and national political arena.

Psi Chi
Psi Chi is the national Honor Society in psychology, associated with the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society. Psi Chi seeks to encourage, stimulate and maintain excellence in scholarship and to advance the science of psychology.

Rugby Club
The Rugby Club forms both male and female teams into a tight knit group of individuals who join and understand the brotherhood that most teams hope to have.

SALSA (Spanish and Latino Student Awareness club)
SALSA is committed to furthering awareness and appreciation of the Spanish and Latino culture by giving extra support to an interactive and expressive Spanish and Latino community.

SPU Cheer Squad
The SPU Spirit Squad was officially established as a club in 2001. This team of women performs at men's and women's basketball games, as well as attends other SPU sporting events, to show Falcon pride.

SPU History Club
The SPU History Club helps students place themselves in the currents of history and promoting a greater understanding of the world around them. The club also helps students understand SPU's campus history.

Ultimate Frisbee Club
The Ultimate Frisbee Organization (UFO) provides a time and place for organized play of ultimate Frisbee. Fun and exercise is the aim. The Ultimate Frisbee Club is for all ultimate players regardless of skill.

Young Democrats
The Young Democrats are dedicated to promoting political dialogue, awareness and activism by providing opportunities for people to become informed on all sides of issues, by thinking for themselves and examining what they believe.
