PACIFIC COLLEGIUM AT SPU SPU is home to an exciting program to benefit commuters while they are on campus, something we're calling "a Collegium". A Collegium is a gathering place... a home away from home for commuter students where they can relax, study, eat, spend some quiet time alone, or catch up with classmates. A Collegium is also a place where commuters can come for an informal talk given by a favorite faculty member, see a special film, or share a dinner with other students facing many of the same issues. VISION The vision for the Collegium program is a caring and celebrating community of commuter students built on a foundation of relationships between and among students, Collegium staff, faculty, and other Seattle Pacific community members. The Collegium provides a beautiful and welcoming "home away from home" environment for commuter students where basic needs of food, shelter, security and a sense of belonging are supported. The Collegium program aims to provide a broader educational experience for the student through an environment that promotes collaborative learning, gives access to campus resources, enables interdisciplinary interactions, gives leadership opportunities, and provides social learning experiences about the challenges and blessings of being together in community. MEMBERSHIP Membership in The Pacific Collegium is free, however, the facility and program can only accommodate a limited number of participants. We are currently limiting membership to 300 commuter students. To apply, submit an application by the fall deadlines advertised. For more information, please contact Kristen Voetmann in the Office of Student Programs or the Collegium Coordinator. EXPECTATIONS Being a member of this community should be considered a privilege. That is why every member is required to sign a "covenant" agreeing to basic expectations of this Collegium community. HOURS Monday - Thursday: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday - 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. .
