Student Research Conference

 

 

On Wednesday, May 27, 2009 the School of Psychology, Family, and Community (SPFC) held its 7th annual Student Research Conference, Awards Ceremony and Psi Chi Induction Luncheon.  This annual event allows undergraduate psychology students and graudate students in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology to showcase their research, attend student research sessions and celebrate student achievements.  This year, 39 research presentations were displayed during a morning poster session, 22 in the afternoon, combined showcasing the research efforts of over 225 SPFC undergraduate and graduate students. Morning and afternoon paper presentations were also included in the event.  Research proposals included titles such as:  "The Role of Anxiety in Sexual Addition," "Puppet Therapy with Grieving Children:  A Qualitative Research Study,"  "The Effect of Music on the Mood of College Students," and, "Children's Executive Attention:  Relations to Academic Performance and Behavior Regulation."   A lunch buffett and awards ceremony celebrated the highest in student achievements this year.
