Goal (1): To produce graduates who have the requisite scientific knowledge for entry into the practice of professional psychology as a local clinical scientist. In this regard, we expect our students will.
Objective A: .acquire knowledge of clinical psychology as both a scientific and applied discipline in local settings, using biopsychosocial and spiritual conceptualizations of well-being and disorder.
Competency 1: Students will acquire knowledge in the distinctive approach of local clinical scientists, including biopsychosocial and spiritual conceptualizations of health and disorder across their coursework in the DGP Clinical Psychology Program.

Objective B: .acquire evidence-based skills in diagnosis and psychological assessment across a broad range of psychological conditions and disorders.
Competency 1: Students will learn skills in diagnosis and evidenced-based assessment techniques and methods that provide clinical case formulation of individual adaptive and maladaptive psychological and interpersonal functioning, functional and dysfunctional cognitive skills, and conceptualization of family and group functioning.
Competency 2: Students will demonstrate competent skills in diagnosis and assessment in applied clinical settings.
Objective C: .acquire evidence-based skills in clinical intervention across a broad range of psychological conditions and disorders.
Competency 1: Students will acquire skills by learning the scientific basis and application of evidence-based integrative psychological interventions and clinical service delivery as a local clinical scientist.
Competency 2: Students will demonstrate skills in applying evidence-based integrative psychological interventions with a range of individuals who suffer from psychological and medical disorders.
Objective D: ...be able to design and execute research and evaluation methods that embodies scientific rigor and sensitivity to biopsychosocial, spiritual, and cultural issues.
Competency 1: Students will be able to articulate scientific theories, and design a range of research designs and methodologies to test theories using an array of statistical techniques.
Competency 2: Students will be able to collaborate on joint research projects and develop skills in working as a part of a research team.
Competency 3: Students will independently write professional papers, including theoretical, literature review, and empirically-based research papers, and present their work at local, regional, and national professional conferences. Students will also publish their work in peer-review journals that has import for local clinical settings, and represent scientific work from a local clinical scientist model basis.

Objective E: Students will demonstrate interpersonal skills and relational capacities for developing effective therapeutic alliances in clinical practice.
Competency 1: Students will complete clinical foundation courses that establish their self-awareness and skills with regard to relationship competence.
Competency 2: Students will demonstrate the ability to establish rapport and therapeutic alliances with clients in practicum and internship training settings.
Objective F: .be able to articulate knowledge and skills in the implementation of the APA Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct for Psychologists.
Competency 1: Students will demonstrate knowledge of the interface of APA Ethical Guidelines and Code of Conduct relative to the conduct of research and publication activities.
Competency 2: Students will apply knowledge of APA Ethical Guidelines and Code of Conduct in case formulations at the practicum and internship training level.
Objective G:...begin to develop an area of subspecialty within the larger general field of clinical psychology, and gain clinical experience and expertise in an area of subspecialty.
Competency 1: Students will complete specialty advanced cognate coursework, in one of three specialty areas will be selected by the student: Health, Child and Family, or Organizational cognates.

Competency 1: Students will develop knowledge and skills in providing clinical supervision on both clinical and research matters.
Objective I:.will obtain licensure as psychologists, and obtain employment in areas of clinical, academic and education, and consultation.
Competency 1: Students will complete the necessary educational and experience requirements to be eligible for licensure as a psychologist in the State of Washington.
Goal (4): To produce professional psychologists who demonstrate professional attitudes that are discerning with regard cultural, individual, and spiritual diversity, and contribute to knowledge and practice of psychology by integrating these attitudes. We expect that our students will.

Competency 1: Students will demonstrate academic awareness of diversity issues by completing coursework in diversity, and demonstrating scholarly acknowledgment of diversity issues in their coursework through out the program.
Competency 2: Students will obtain experiences in working with diverse clinical populations in both practicum and internship settings.
