SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS

In most cases, distance learning course prices do not include course materials. Shortly after you register, a course study guide will be mailed to you. If registering in person, the study guide will be available in Peterson Hall 300. The packet will include a listing of all materials needed for the course and instructions on how to order them from the SPU Bookstore or other sources. For some courses, you will lease a set of video tapes. Information on leasing the tapes will also be provided when you register for the course. The earlier you register for a distance learning course, the earlier you can obtain all your materials and begin to work on the course. Please do not include payment for materials with your tuition payment.

  Bookstore information:
Most course materials are available at the SPU Bookstore. Please refer to your course introductory pages for verification. Unless otherwise directed in your Study Guide, please order all materials for your course within one month of registering to ensure availability of materials. Call 800/778-3401 to order.
You may purchase your materials at the Seattle Pacific University Bookstore in person, by phone, mail, or fax. The prices listed in the course materials provided by the distance learning office are for new textbooks, audiotapes and/or videotapes. Sometimes used materials may be available. You may inquire about the availability and price of the used materials by calling 800/778-3401.
Your materials will be mailed via UPS, or U.S. Mail for Post Office Boxes. Allow a minimum of two weeks for your materials to arrive. If an item is out of stock, it will be sent out as soon as it becomes available.
Return Policy: Textbooks and other course materials may be returned within two weeks after you receive them. A sales receipt is required for all returns. New textbooks must be returned in the same condition as when purchased. Videotapes and audiotapes must be returned in their original packaging and in new condition.
Buy-back Program: The SPU Bookstore may buy back textbooks from off-campus students. Please call the bookstore at 800/778-3401 for more specific information.
