In most cases, distance learning course prices do not include course materials. Shortly after you register, a course syllabus and study guide will be mailed to you. The study-guide packet will include a listing of all materials needed for the course and instructions on how to order them from the SPU Bookstore or other sources. For some courses, you will lease a set of video tapes. Information on leasing the tapes will also be provided when you register for the course.
Registration and Course Completion Deadlines for Distance Learning Courses

You may register for a distance learning course at any time. However, to be registered and receive credit for spring Quarter you must register between November 16, 2004 and February 15, 2005, unless otherwise noted. Registrations received after February 15, 2005, will register you for that course in Spring Quarter 2005.

Unless otherwise indicated, the distance learning courses listed in this bulletin must be completed within one year. The course completion time is given in each course's description in this bulletin. For all yearlong courses, spring Quarter 2005 registrants must complete the work by February 15, 2006. If you do not complete a yearlong distance learning course within one year of registration, you will receive a permanent "N" on your transcript, which means "in progress." The "N" does not affect your GPA. Be sure to check your course syllabus for more specific assignment due dates and course completion deadlines.
