The purpose of the School of Education Diversity Committee is to create an authentically welcoming culture for diverse faculty and students. As a committee, we strive to increase diversity within the School of Education and Seattle Pacific University , to develop an ethos of acceptance and appreciation of diverse perspectives and backgrounds, and to provide evidence of our commitment as demonstrated through the School of Education 's physical appearance, teaching, course work, texts utilized, and faculty.
Our goal is to increase the representation of students and faculty of color within the School of Education and Seattle Pacific University in an effort to create an environment where we have the opportunity to learn from diverse perspectives. We realize that this can only be achieved through creating a climate that is supportive and meets the diverse needs of people of color.
