MOTOR POOL DEFENSIVE DRIVER TRAINING
Please email the Motorpool Coordinator with your training request.

In order to become an authorized driver for SPU's Motor vehicle fleet, you must attend a two hour Defensive Driver Training course. The class is broken into two parts. Part one is a lecture format held bi-monthly at the Office of Safety and Security.

Part Two, the Behind-the-Wheels portion of the Defensive Driver Training takes approximately one hour. This class covers the vehicle check-in and check-out procedures, pre-trip inspection and a driving practical.

Additionally, you will need to provide the Motorpool Coordinator a copy of your current driver's license and a copy of your Dept. of Licensing Driver's Abstract. Moving violations and at-fault traffic accidents within the last five years can negatively affect the authorization process. SPU implements a three-strikes and your out rule. Moving violations count as one point; at-fault accidents count as two. Driving records will be reviewed every two years from your initial authorization date.

Use the form below to notify the Motorpool Coordinator that you would like to schedule either Part One or Part Two of the Defensive Driver Training course.
