University Services Msg 4 Response

Point of Contact: Murray Lawson

CSOT Department/Area: University Services

Elonna Visser and Kim Karstens are essential personnel to enable OUS to deal with the current emergency.  Amy Foster has young children and would need, if possible, to attend to their needs.  Four other OUS staff have volunteered to stay on campus to assist as needed.  Conference Services will update clients on the status of contracted facilities.

The OUS staff does not require counseling and are ready to address recovery plans. Since 2500 students and staff and faculty are still on campus we need to take steps to make water available from the emergency supplies container on Nickerson.  Also, Sodexo needs to be planning their next actions anticipating that they will gain access to Gwinn at 5:00pm.  Normal operating inventories of food supplies in Gwinn will be sufficient to meet the needs of supper when it is prepared. HMP staff will continue to identify alternative lodging locations in case any buildings in the residence system are not habitable.

Dave, our building does not appear to have any significant structural damage and I am seeking permission to re-enter the building to assess its condition and report my observations to you.
