Finance Msg 6 Response

Point of Contact: Craig Kispert

CSOT Department/Area: Finance

What Now questions:

  • Are there any vendors you should consider contacting? How soon do they need to be contacted? We need to get in touch with our banks and property insurance carriers/brokers.  Contact should be made before the end of the day if possible to set the wheels in motion for conversations in the upcoming days as more information regarding the length of the campus shut down and the extent of damage to buildings become more known.
  • What is the impact to your department if CIS remains down for several hours or days?  We will be relatively unaffected if CIS remains down for several hours.  If the down time extends across multiple days, we would need to find some internet service to be able to use to communicate with the banks to arrange for necessary payments and transactions.  This does not need to occur on the SPU network but would need some sort of internet access.
  • What actions do you need to take in the next hour? Next two hours?  Nothing more than what has already been done today outside of continuing to monitor the situation and communicate with staff about schedules.
  • Have any issues or new questions emerged?  Is there any other general internet access that we should look at that would enable some contact with the outside world without being plugged into any of the SPU resources (i.e. something like Clearwire – may be dependent on cell access - or through a satellite phone)
