Note: The only employees present (in reality) at 8.40 a.m. on 4/29/09 was Administrative Assistant Julie Glavic

  • Deb Nondorf was at a conference in California

  • Stephen Newby was taking speaker to SeaTac

  • Bob Zurinsky was off-site – due in at 10:30am

  • Matthew Koenig was off-site – due in at 9:30am

 

What Now questions:

  • Did you remember to drop, cover, and hold? Yes, Julie remembered to do this.

  • Do you know  where your buildings’ evacuation location is? Yes, Tiffany Loop

  • What will you take with you when you leave the building?  Create a list of what you take with you.

    1. BEC emergency bag

    2. Department first aid kit

    3. Employees – cell phones, keys, laptops, thumb drives, first aid kit

    4. Students – personal belongings including laptops

  • What will you do when you arrive at the evacuation location?

Check in with BEC – perform headcount: account for students and staff on-site, attend to injuries, maintain contact with Safety through BEC; provide pastoral care

  • What will you do with the injured?

Treat as able with supplies from first aid kit; Keep them calm and still; provide pastoral care; protect them and move them if necessary

  • How will you check in with your family members? Do you have an family communication plan?

Family members will be reached via cell phone utilizing out of state contacts per family plans. Yes we have family plans.

  • What actions do you need to take in the next hour? Next two hours?

In the next hour:

  1. Contact all absent staff members and student workers regarding the earthquake.

  2. Injured staff and students need to be treated as we are able.

  3. Provide pastoral care

              

Next two hours:

  1. Need to decide plan for group this evening

  2. Need to be communicating re logistics for GospelFest 09 event to be held Saturday at RBP – anticipating 2500 people

  3. Provide pastoral care
