CSOT Department/Area: CIS
As soon as the initial shaking and after-shocks have stopped, the CIS team mangers and system administrator need to perform a physical review of servers, network resources and application operations. While some of this can be done remotely, access to the CIS Server Room and PBX/Network Core room will be sought.
[F/U – how will access back into CIS for team managers and system admin’s be handled?] If electrical and network services have not been disrupted (somewhat surprising), CIS managers and admins will begin system reviews.
Follow the CIS departmental outline of service priorities:
- Network core (domain controllers, DNS, DHCP, backbone switch)
- Wireless connectivity
- Internet connectivity
- Telephone service
Application priorities:
- VM hosts 1-11SAN storageBanner system
- IBM SAN
- Email servicesWeb servicesFile servers (data sync)BlackboardDepartmental servers
- Individual application servers
CIS staff all maintain our CIS staff emergency contact lists on person (on- off-campus phones numbers, on- off-campus email addresses). We also use an SPU-Alert group to help with communication. Some CIS may be free to assist other departments, but a core number become part of the CIS response team for verification, maintenance and support of resources.
Gerard and/or I would likely continue to be involved in ECMT, CSOT, or CT. We may also continue to assist in providing SPU-Alert or Display Signage notification assistance.
Provided all core campus systems and resources are still available and online – we begin to expand out to all campus bldgs that contain network services (nearly every bldg on campus).
Physical security, HVAC, backup power generators, both in CIS/Marston Hall – and in other campus buildings are also be reviewed and reset as needed.
