A CSOT EXERCISE IN EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND RECOVERY

HOME   |

Athletics Msg 2 Response

Point of Contact: Erin O'Connell

CSOT Department/Area: Athletics

CSOT members can assist BECs by accounting for and tending to departmental staff and students. An assessment of the impact on Royal Brougham/Wallace Field area can be done. As we have no home gym events during this time so we do not need to assess whether contests need to be cancelled. It is possible that spring soccer game could be scheduled for Interbay on the upcoming weekend. At some point, likely Thursday the 30th Interbay Stadium would need assessment.

Either myself or the RBP BECs would need to communicate with ECMT, Campus Security, fellow CSOT members and likely the Great Northwest Athletic Conference office via text message or email from PDA where we are physically located within the athletic complex.

We will meet with staff (present) on the track by Wallace Field. For staff not at work at the time of the quake we will communicate by text or email to not come to work. We took our hard copy student-athlete and staff rosters when leaving the building. Therefore we are able to contact with those individuals if need be.

There will be a need for water and food if we are not able to leave campus and return home (by car or foot). Specific individuals will be assigned to cross Nickerson to campus to gather emergency provisions that are stored.

In the next hour or two we need to continue to tend to any injured individuals and assess the situation and whether it is safe to stay at our campus location.
