The Call to Entrepreneurship and Small Business

with Dr. Herb Kierulff

Is God calling you to be an entrepreneur? How do you know? Why would God do this? Aren't entrepreneurs second class citizens in the Kingdom of God -- ministers and missionaries being the first class citizens?

Come find out if you might be called to this challenge and what the ramifications are. You'll interact with session leaders Dan Price and Herb Kierulff. Dan Price started his business in his SPU dorm room just seven years ago and has built it into a multi-million dollar enterprise. Herb Kierulff cofounded the first large scale graduate Entrepreneurship program in the world at the University of Southern California and has studied with and has served as a consultant to entrepreneurs for more than 40 years.

Calling to a For-profit Business

with Dr. Al Erisman

Sometimes Christian students may think that to serve God in business they must go to a non-profit or at least a social venture.  Working in a for-profit company is just a job.

But when you look at the transformation of the world that has happened through for-profit businesses, and the opportunity to build things that meet real needs in society, it is easy to get excited.  I personally spent 32 years at The Boeing Company and came to see my work as a part of my calling from God.   With me will be Paul Graves, an entrepreneur with a new company called See Seven.  After working for a number of for-profit companies, he has decided to start his own for-profit company, building into it a biblical foundation for his work in design and branding.  Explore with us how your job in a large or small for-profit company can be much more than a paycheck.

The Calling of Personal Mastery:

Pursue your passion, not your pension

with Dr. Jim Rand

Personal mastery fosters courage to take risks and accept new challenges to achieve goals. The type of venue i.e. big business, small business, nonprofit, health care, manufacturing, education, etc. matters not!

What matters is your purpose and subsequent passion. Without that information and resulting personal mastery life is blah and that on a good day. In this session we will provide the tools to begin to discover your purpose and start on the road to pursuing your passion, not your pension regardless of the venue you choose. It is through the paradigm of body, mind, heart, and spirit that you will find your voice and help others find theirs.
