ADMISSIONS & WHEN TO APPLY

For admission to SPU's MBA or MS-ISM Programs, you must:

  1. Have completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 (A=4.0) or higher.

  2. Submit a résumé as evidence of substantive work experience (must possess a minimum of one full year, continuous full-time experience post bachelor's degree at time of application; more preferred).  This is significant factor in the admission decision process.

  3. (MBA applicants) Submit the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Scores above 490 (20 verbal; 24 quantitative; 3.5 analytical writing) are preferred.  School code C9FD273.

           (ISM applicants) Submit the Graduate Record of Examination (GRE). Scores

           above 975 (450 verbal; 525 quantitative) are preferred.  School code 4694.

           Those applicants who already possess a master's degree may waive

           test requirement with submission of an official transcript listing their master's

           degree.

      4.  Those with GPA or test scores that do not meet these minimum

           requirements may be considered.  In such a case, applicants           

           must also submit two letters of recommendation from           

           employers and a three to four page personal statement that  

           responds to essay questions listed in the application.


In addition to the above requirements, international students also need to have:

  • A TOEFL score of at least 90 on the iBT (or equivalent TOEIC or IELTS scores).
  • An official financial statement reflecting financial support equivalent to the costs of the first year of graduate study.  If the funds belong to a financial sponsor, the Declaration of International Student Finances form is also required (and is available within the online application).

 

WHEN TO APPLY

The application for admission, application fee and personal statement must be received by the dates listed below.

Recommendation forms, transcripts and test scores must arrive before an admission decision can be made.
