Experience:
Jim Rand is a Clinical Professor at Seattle Pacific University. He is also a founding principal in the Seattle Research Partners.

Since 1967, he has held various executive and leadership positions within the private sector for corporations including Kimberly Clark, Crocker Bank, U and I Incorporated, West One, and Fluke. He has also held adjunct appointments at the University of Utah, Golden Gate University, University of Maryland, University of Wisconsin, University of Washington and the University of California, Berkley. He has taught graduate level international seminars in Greece, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, and Germany.

Jim's clients include Providence Health Systems, World Vision, Boeing, Bank Administration Institute, Human Resources Certification Institute, Battelle, PEMCO, Simpson Paper, Antioch University, University of Washington, Seattle City Light, the Archdiocese of Seattle, City of Seattle, Port of Seattle, the State of Washington School Business Officials, Visiting Nurse Services, Verizon, Marine Group, Community Transit and Catholic Hospital.

He has served with a number of professional associations including: Chair of the Northwest Compensation Forum, Chair of the American Electronics Association K-12 strategy committee, Senior Vice President of the Evergreen Area council of Boy Scouts, member of the Governors Task force on Education, board member of the Washington State quality award, Civil Service commissioner and member of the board of trustees of Holy Cross high School. Jim has authored several articles on negotiations, labor relations, strategic quality and human resources. He has authored a book entitled Thinking and Acting Strategically.

Jim has completed post-doctorate work at Harvard Law School's Negotiation Institute, The Institute for Principle Centered Leadership and MIT's System Thinking in Action Institute.
