Experience:
Joanna Poznanska has been teaching at the Seattle Pacific University since 1988. She is a professor of International Business and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Business and Economics. Her research is focused on the changing international business environment in emerging economies, including Eastern Europe, Russia and China. Her interest in Eastern Europe is driven by her background. She was born and raised in Poland and her Ph.D. in Economics was granted by Warsaw Technical University. After moving to the United States, she continued her graduate work at Cornell University after being awarded the Sage Graduate Scholarship. She was also a visiting scholar at John Hopkins University, Princeton University, and Stanford University. Prior to her appointment at SPU, she taught at Skidmore College and SUNY-Albany. Her numerous publications include book chapters on globalization in China, foreign capital holdings in Eastern Europe, and structural changes in Korean financial markets. More recently, she is preparing several publications on the impact of the economic surge in China, Brazil, India, and Russia (BRIC economies) on the world market. She is married and has one daughter.
