Experience:
Professor Hess joined the SPU faculty in 1977 and teaches courses in corporate finance and investments. In addition to teaching, he is active in research and has authored several articles on the financial aspects of nonprofits, international equity markets and the practice of teaching finance. Outside activities include investment consulting and finance program reviews. Professor Hess is a member of the Financial Management Association and the Academy of Business Education. He has served on various faculty governance committees at SPU. Currently he serves on Faculty Status and chairs the SBE Tenure and Promotion Committee. Professor Hess is a member and elder at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Seattle and is active in children’s ministries.
