Upper Gwinn is free to all SBE undergraduates, and SBE
classes do not meet between Noon and 1:30 p.m. to

Center for Integrity
in Business Brings Dr. Gideon Strauss to Campus
Our
Center for Integrity in Business (CIB)
is proud to host
Gideon Strauss, a senior fellow at
The Center for
Public Justice, for a series of conversations
titled, Eternal Enemies! Why Business and
Government Are Not, and How They Can Partner on
October 13-14. Dr. Strauss will discuss
the ways in which business can approach a creative
partnership with government for achieving shared
purposes.
A special discussion time with undergraduate
students is set for Thursday, October
13th from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Otto Miller 109.
Targeting undergraduates broadly and business majors
specifically, this talk will provide a distinct
perspective on government-business partnership intended
to reinforce the purpose of business
perspective taught at SBE.

free tickets are available to the first fifteen
students who wish to attend the
CIB-Kiros luncheon just before the undergraduate

Brandon Pedersen, Chief Financial Officer of Alaska Air Group, is our invited speaker for our quarterly Dean's
Speaker Series event this month. Join with other SBE undergraduates on Wednesday, October 26th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Library Seminar Room. Mr. Petersen leads not only in the area of finance, but also in information systems and strategy at Alaska Air.

Social Venture Plan Competition Info Session
It's not too soon to get this event on your schedule. In one month, the 6th annual Social Venture Plan Competition (SVPC) will kick off. Join us on Tuesday, November 8th at 3:00 p.m. in the Library Seminar Room and learn how you can team up with other students to address some of the world's most persistent social issues.
