Tracking Students

Students are identified by intended major or program code in the Banner Information System. If registration is to be restricted for a certain section of a course, instructor permission or coordinator approval can be attached to a course. Each student would be required to obtain this permission prior to registering. 

When creating a new program, it is important to know how these students will be tracked. The Office of Information and Data Management (IDM) bases some of their reporting criteria on how students are coded in Banner.
