EDRD 3200

Description: Prerequisite: EDRD 2000. Explores current research and best practices in teaching reading, writing, and language arts as an integrated process in grades K-8. Addresses topics such as instructional grouping, classroom-based assessments, analysis and use of instructional materials (including the underlying theory base), and strategy instruction. Includes a survey of current reading programs, their instructional design and underlying view of the learner. Students will design unit and lesson plans to teach reading, writing, and language processes.
