2010-2011 Housing Sign-Up

NON-RESIDENTIAL ROOMMATES

Signing Up With a New Student. If you would like to sign up with a new freshman or transfer student for Autumn Quarter 2011, you must verify that he or she has submitted a Campus Housing Application and a $300 room deposit. (Note: First-time freshmen are eligible for the residence halls; transfer students are eligible for the campus apartments.)

The student must also complete a Room and Meal Plan Contract. It is your responsibility to make arrangements with Housing Services to have the paperwork sent and to ensure that your roommate completes the contract by the appropriate deadline listed below:

  • Residence Halls. Your roommate's contract must be received at least three business days prior to the night you wish to sign up. If so, you may pick up a Non-Residential Roommate Pass at OUS on the day you wish to sign up. You must bring the pass with you that night to verify the status and seniority points of your roommate.

  • Campus Apartments. You must ensure that Housing Services has received your roommate's contract by the time you submit your group application.

Signing Up With a Student on a Spring Quarter 2011 Study Program. Students who are on SPU-approved Spring Quarter 2011 study programs typically complete housing paperwork prior to leaving. If you plan to sign up with a student on a study program, follow the directions below for the type of unit you are reserving:

  • Residence Halls. Contact Housing Services at least three business days prior to the night you wish to sign up. If the student has completed the appropriate paperwork, a Non-Residential Roommate Pass will be available at OUS for you to pick up on the day you wish to sign up. You must bring the pass with you that night to verify the status and seniority points of your roommate.

  • Campus Apartments. You must ensure that Housing Services has received your roommate’s paperwork by the time you submit your group application. His or her seniority points will be calculated and the paperwork attached to your application.

Signing Up With a Commuter Student. If you would like to sign up with a commuter student, he or she must be admitted to SPU, be registered for Spring Quarter 2011, and plan to be registered for Autumn Quarter 2011. Your roommate must pick up a Room and Meal Plan Contract at OUS, submit a $300 room deposit, and complete the contract by the deadline listed below for the type of unit you are reserving:

  • Residence Halls. Your roommate's contract must be received at least three business days prior to the night you wish to sign up. Although commuters may attend sign-up events, they must submit a contract in advance so their seniority points can be calculated. If the contract is received by the deadline, you may pick up a Non-Residential Roommate Pass at OUS on the day you wish to sign up. You must bring the pass with you that night to verify the status and seniority points of your roommate.

  • Campus Apartments. You must ensure that Housing Services has received your roommate's contract by the time you submit your group application.
