Application Process
Seattle Pacific
University welcomes your application for admission to the Professional
Studies Program.
Applications to the program are accepted throughout the year. We will
carefully review your application and supporting materials. Since each
applicant to the program is admitted on his or her individual merits,
it is important that these materials present a full and accurate record
of your academic and personal qualifications. A decision will be made
regarding your admission soon after all application materials have been
received.

TRANSCRIPTS
Please request that official transcripts for all courses
taken (high school and college) be sent to Seattle Pacific University.
In order for transcripts to be considered official, they must be sent
in a sealed envelope. If any college work is in progress, ask your school
to forward another transcript when the work is complete.
FINANCIAL
AID
If you plan to apply for need-based financial aid, you must also submit
a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as quickly as possible.
You may obtain a form from Student Financial Services at (800) 737-8826
or (206) 281-2061 or you may apply via the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Seattle Pacific’s school code for FAFSA is 003788. Click
here for more information about Tuition and Financial Aid.
The financial aid process takes approximately six weeks. To allow enough
time to determine your eligibility, the FAFSA needs to be completed
at least four to six weeks in advance of your first quarter of attendance.
If you qualify for aid, it may take several weeks into the quarter before
the process is completed and aid is received. If you do not qualify,
you will need to pay the full costs. For further information, contact
Student Financial Services.
AFTER
YOU APPLY
Admission Decision. Once all
your application materials are received, your file will be reviewed.
The Admissions Committee will make a decision promptly after receipt
of a completed application. If admission is granted, you will be notified
by phone and mail within two weeks of the decision. If admission is
denied, Seattle Pacific will work with you to determine the best option
to completing your degree.
AFTER
YOU’RE ADMITTED: STEPS TO ENROLL
Admission Packet. Once you’ve been admitted to SPU, you will receive
an admission packet in the mail. The packet will include information
about your program schedule, payment information and registration.
Medical History
Form. Complete and return the confidential Medical History Form
found in your Admission Packet.
Decision to Enroll/Advance
Payment. Indicate your decision to enroll at SPU by sending your
$200 advance payment to the Office of Admissions. Advance payments are
due prior to registration.
Early Registration.
Each student admitted into the Professional Studies Program will receive
personal, individualized attention from an academic counselor. Following
this process, your advisor will assist you in registering for classes
before your first quarter begins.
New Student Orientation.
New students who start their course work at the beginning of the academic
year are asked to attend an on-campus orientation, which is held prior
to Autumn Quarter classes.
PAYMENT
POLICIES
Students may choose to meet their financial obligations in one of
two ways: (1) payment in full for each quarter, or (2) a two-month payment
option. A student’s account must be paid in full to be able to register
for subsequent quarters. For complete information on payment plans and
options, consult the SPU Undergraduate Catalog.
Tuition Reimbursement.
Companies will often pay for employee education and training. Check
with your human resources office to see if your organization will subsidize
all or part of your degree program. Contact Student Financial Services
to complete the paperwork.
Purchase Order.
If your company or organization provides a purchase order for each course,
or for the program in full, SPU will gladly bill the company for the
program costs at the end of each quarter.
