EMPOWERING YOUTH AND FAMILIES OUTREACH                       Top                
Time: Tuesday, 3:20-6:00 PM
Relationship building is the key to tutoring with EYFO. Volunteers are given the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of school children in South Seattle. Tutors are matched one-on-one with a student, helping with homework and reading. Tutors may work with elementary or middle school students.

MEKONG KIDS                                                                                           Top
Time: Tuesday, 2:30-5:30 PM
Mekong tutors will be matched with a Graham Hill Elementary School student for individual attention focused on WASL preparation and success. Mekong serves students from a variety of ethic and social backgrounds, many of whom are enrolled in English Language Learners classes at the elementary school.

NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE                                                                         Top
Time: Monday, 3:15-6:00 PM
Neighborhood House is an elementary school tutoring program located in White Center. Volunteers will develop a unique relationship with one or two children in this diverse environment.

SACRED HEART SHELTER                                                                        Top
Time: Dinner every other Tuesday, Thursday, 4:00-7:00 PM
Sacred Heart Shelter provides safe, transitional housing in a home-like atmosphere to homeless families and single women as they seek to address the issues that have resulted in homelessness. SPU volunteers shop for groceries, then prepare and eat dinner with residents of Sacred Heart Shelter. Sacred Heart allows students to explore Christ's view of equality by sharing a meal with individuals from different life experiences.

UNION GOSPEL MISSION KIDS’ CLUB                                                    Top
Time: Monday, 6:00-8:00 PM
Volunteers provide childcare and play with children of mothers in transitional housing as moms participate in Bible study. Fun activities may be incorporated into this time with the kids, such as singing, crafts, snacks and story time.

UNION GOSPEL MISSION YOUTH REACHOUT CENTER                 Top
Time: Thursday, 3:30-5:30 PM
Volunteers will encounter invaluable and memorable cross-cultural experiences while tutoring and building relationships with children in Seattle’s Rainier Valley at Union Gospel Mission's Youth Reach Out Center . Volunteers spend time either one-on-one with a certain child or in a classroom setting with a specific age group helping with homework. In the process, volunteers become great friends and mentors to the students.

UNION GOSPEL MISSION: WHITE CENTER                                           Top
Time: Thursday, 5:30-9:30 PM
Volunteers serve as mentors, friends, and role models for middle school students from a diverse array of family, cultural, and economic backgrounds in a fun, weekly youth group. There will also be opportunities to take your commitment deeper by starting a small group, tutoring, and going to camps, retreats, or special events.

WHITE CENTER DANCE TEAM                                                                    Top
Time: Wednesday, 3:30-6:00 PM
Volunteers support Union Gospel Mission’s middle school program, serving as mentors and teachers of hip hop dance in the program’s afterschool activities.

NEW HORIZONS MINISTRIES

Description: Volunteers hang out, play games, and interact with street youth while forming healthy relationships and serving as role models. Volunteers must be at least 20 years old, and must complete New Horizons’ street ministry training, offered quarterly.
