Announcement of a Vacancy in Communication
Position: Assistant Professor of Communication, full-time, tenure track, available September 2000.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in hand in Communication Studies. A successful candidate will have a broad background that integrates communication scholarship in historical, critical, and social scientific research, and will show promise of scholarly production.
Responsibilities: Regular nine-month load of about 33 quarter credits, teaching interpersonal communication and public-speaking general education courses; advanced undergraduate courses in persuasion, theories of communication, and other courses as needed. Additional responsibilities include advising and committee assignments.
Compensation: Compensation commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental, disability, and life insurance, as well as retirement programs. A moving allowance is provided.
Application Deadline: Applications should be completed no later than December 1, 1998. The application includes an official SPU application form, a faith statement of approximately one page, and supporting documents.
