Ames Scholarship

Meet the Newest Ames Scholars

Since the first group of Ames Scholars arrived at Seattle Pacific University in 2002, 60 students have been offered Ames Scholarships. The first Scholars to graduate became part of the SPU Class of 2005.

Below meet the newest Ames Scholars, a group of young leaders who will one day be part of the SPU Class of 2013.

In high school, he played football and was involved in Key Club. For fun, Orion likes to play video games and to sleep! Syrron was featured in a newsletter of the Independent Colleges of Washington. Quoted, he said, “I wanted to attend college for the simple fact that I wanted to be the best I could be. Furthering my education would help make that dream come true. Although I’m still determining what I want to do for a living, whatever it is I’d like to give back to the community and help children who are determined to achieve their dreams.” At SPU, Syrron has been involved in MOSAIC club, Black Student Union, and intramurals, and he enjoys living in Ashton Hall at the highest point of elevation on the campus.
