"A gateway to electronic resources and tools for the national and international adult literacy communities." Search categories include Country/Region and Topic/Theme. - National Center on Adult Literacy (NCAL), International Literacy Institute (ILI), and University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education
National Council of Teachers of English
"Site Map" displays categories of links including "Issues and Positions" provides position statements of the Council on issues like nonsexist language, censorship, national language policy, and standards; "Discussion Lists;" "News;" and "Teaching Materials."
National Institute for Literacy
Categories provided are "News and Events," "Policy & Legislation," "FAQs," and "LINCS" for access to full text material.  NIFL is an independent federal organization leading the national effort toward a fully literate nation. Primary focus is on adult literacy.  
National Reading Conference
Provides access to NRC conference and membership information, the NCR Newsletter in addition to the table of contents, abstracts, and selected full-text material from the Journal of Literacy Research.
National Reading Panel (NRP)
 

The NRP reviewed research-based knowledge on reading instruction and held open panel meetings in Washington, DC, and regional meetings across the United States. On April 13, 2000, the NRP concluded its work and submitted "The Report of the National Reading Panel: Teaching Children to Read," at a hearing before the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee's Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education.  This website includes links to other publications and activities of the National Reading Panel.

National Research Center on English Learning & Achievement
Collection of resources for literacy researchers. Provides links research institutes, professional associations, and ERIC clearinghouses. "Newsletter" includes full text of the Center's newsletter, 1996 to present.
