About Software in the Library Computer Classroom

Software to be used in the classroom fall in to two major categories:

  1. Standard supported software - such as MS Office
  2. Instructor Supported Software - This software changes according to the instructors choice.

For Instructor supported software students are referred to the instructor when they experience problems. The instructor is expected to test the software after installation to confirm that it performs as he or she desires. The instructor needs to inform us as to whether the software is to be in the classroom only or in both the classroom and the open lab.

Instructor software may not be loaded on only 1 or 2 computers, software must be loaded in the entire lab.  It is recommended that you contact Library Computer Support before purchasing your software so that we may insure that it will work with our system and that you have a license agreement that will allow for installation on the network.  A license need not be purchased for every computer if there is some way to limit the number of simultaneous users.

Instructors should call Carrie Fry at 281-2124 if they have questions about having software installed on the library computers.
