  Circulation Policies

Borrower's Card
A current, validated student identification card is needed to check out all library materials.  For additional information, please inquire at the Circulation/Reserve Counter or by telephone, (206) 281-2228.






Circulating Items

Books, curriculum materials, maps and pamphlets may be checked out.  Books may be renewed once unless a hold request has been received for it.  Renewals may be requested online by logging into Your Library Record or by telephone.

Periodicals and newspapers MAY NOT be checked out.  Photocopiers located on main and lower levels accept quarters, dimes, nickels, one dollar bills, and Copy Cards.

* Students who attend one of the Puget Sound Academic Independent Libraries (PSAIL) schools are allowed to borrow materials from our library.  Those schools are: Pacific Lutheran University, Northwest College, Saint Martin's College, Seattle University, University of Puget Sound.

** Students who attend one of the Orbis Cascade Alliance Schools (click here to see a list) are allowed to borrow materials from our library.  Note: Summit borrowing items only circulate for 3 weeks, Orbis Cascade Alliance students who come to our library in person may borrow items for 28 days.

Overdue Fines

Overdue fines for all materials except Reserve and Summit (Orbis Cascade Alliance) items accumulate at the rate of 20 cents per day per item, until the material is 25 days overdue.  After 25 days, the item is considered lost.  Ask at the Circulation Counter for additional information about overdue fines.

WHETHER OR NOT YOU RECEIVE AN OVERDUE NOTICE, YOU ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR RETURNING ON TIME MATERIALS WHICH HAVE BEEN CHECKED OUT ON YOUR ID CARD.
