Jacob DeShazer     (1912 - 2008)

A WW II bombardier with the Doolittle raiders, Jacob "Jake" DeShazer experienced a religious conversion following capture as a prisoner of war.  He vowed to love his tormentors, despite a death sentence (later commuted).  After the war, DeShazer finished his education, graduating from Seattle Pacific College.  He then promptly returned to Japan, this time as a missionary, and helped establish more than 20 new churches.

"I have tried God's promises out in the past, and God always keeps his promises."
