Saving Word Documents as Web Pages

 

Word 2007

To convert a Word 2007 document into an HTML file (web page), do the following:

  1. Open the Word document you want to change into a web page.
  2. From the Office menu, select Save As.
  3. Locate where you want to save the file.
  4. From the Save as type dropdown menu, choose Web Page.
  5. Click the Change Title button, and type in the name of the page as you would like it to display in the title bar of your web browser.
  6. In the File name box, type a name for the document.  Avoid using spaces; instead use underscores where needed (i.e. file_name).
  7. Click Save.

 

Word 2003

To convert a Word 2003 document into an HTML file (web page), do the following:

  1. Open the Word document you want to change into a web page.
  2. From the File menu, select Save As.
  3. Locate where you want to save the file.
  4. From the Save as type dropdown menu, choose Web Page (*.htm; *.html).
  5. Click the Change Title button, and type in the name of the page as you would like it to display in the title bar of your web browser.
  6. In the File name box, type a name for the document.  Avoid using spaces; instead use underscores where needed (i.e. file_name).
  7. Click Save.
