You can post links to other web sites within your online course. We recommend that if you want to post a whole web page full of links that you create the page in Microsoft Word and save the document as a web page which can then be posted to your course.
To post a link to another web site:
Log
into your online course site.
- Click the Control Panel.
- Click on the area (i.e. Course Documents) where you
want the link to appear.

- Click the Add External Link button.

- In the Name field, type in the name of the web site.
- In the URL field, type in the web address.

Note: You can copy a web address from your web browser by going to that web page, selecting the web address, and choosing Edit>Copy. To paste the URL, click where the URL should appear and choose Edit>Paste.
- The in the Text box, you may enter a description of the web
site or include a note about specific aspects of the site that
you would like students to review.
- Under the Content section, you may choose to post
a document to accompany the link to the web site. For example,
if you had a specific handout related to the web site, you could include
the handout as an attachment.
- Under the Options section, select Yes for Open in new
window. This will help your students distinguish between their online
course site and the external web site to which you are giving them a link.
You may select other options as desired.
