The Control Panel provides instructors access to all the course-building tools. Students do not have access to the Control Panel.
Instructors may enter the Control Panel area by clicking the link for Control Panel listed at the bottom of the navigation menu within their course site.
Overview of the Control Panel
The Control Panel is comprised of six categories, described below.
Content Areas:
This area provides the tools necessary to post course documents, create
assignments, and link assessments.
Course Tools:
This area contains the communication tools for instructors to add announcements,
post staff information, set up online threaded discussions, and send email.
Course Options:
Course availability and customization options are located in this area for
advanced management of course components.
User Management:
This area provides tools for the instructor to enroll teaching assistants
and to manage student groups.
Assessment:
This area provides tools for creating online assessments. This area also
contains the online gradebook and course statistics.
Support:
Online documentation created by the company Blackboard is available in the
assistance area to help you during the course development process. For SPU
specific Blackboard documentation, click the help icon at the top of
the screen.
Breadcrumbs: Finding Your Place
In the upper left corner of the screen, there is a series of links called
"Breadcrumbs." You can click these breadcrumbs to return to the main Control Panel page
or your main course site page.
