Perhaps it’s time to consider a master’s degree in nursing from SPU. The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree has a leadership core with options for Advanced Practice Nurse Pathways that include Clinical Specialist, Nurse Educator (both staff development and academia), Nurse Administrator or Nurse Practitioner. We also offer a Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner Certificate for those who already hold a master’s degree in nursing.

The beauty of the program at SPU is that it is designed for the working nurse. Classes are offered both evenings and Saturdays. All of the coursework can be completed in two years. However, some nurses choose to attend part-time, completing the degree in three years. We have a summer transition course for diploma- or ADN-registered nurses who hold a bachelor’s degree in a field outside of nursing, so these students do not have to complete a bachelor of science degree in nursing before going on to a master’s program. These students complete the community health and research components required of undergraduate baccalaureate students during the summer and join the graduate students in the fall.

The program is accepting applications. Please call for more information, or set up an appointment to learn more about our graduate program and scholarship and traineeship resources available. (206) 281-2888 or msninfo@spu.edu).

Do you have questions about completing your MSN?

  • What would I study?
  • Can I cope with school again?
  • What about work and my family?
  • Can I really afford graduate education?
  • What does a graduate degree do for me anyway?

Come to our next information session and let's talk about it.
