Description of Duties

Responsible for construction, installation and maintenance of scenery. Responsible for supervision of task groups in the absence of the Technical Director. Lead Carpenter maintains tools and shop spaces, and supervises student crews and interns.

Skills / Qualifications

Carpentry, welding, drafting, and some rigging skills are necessary. Supervisory skills and the ability to work without supervision are helpful. Familiarity with theatrical construction and operation protocols and conventions, and knowledge of WSHA safety regulations, is required.

Experience Required

One year of Production Practicum and one year of experience as a production assistant in the Scene Shop, or equivalent professional experience, is required.

Level of Supervision

Works under supervision of Technical Director.
