The main emphasis will be on basic through advanced applications of the music notation software Finale. Additional student lessons will include desktop publishing and the introduction of Web site portfolio programs. The process includes reading, writing, listening, analysis, composition, improvistation, counterpoint and computer notation. The in-depth study of great works such as Bach's St. Matthew Passion, Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, Brahms' German Requiem and Mahler's Ressurection Symphony provides the student with opportunity to reflect on the integration of his or her discipline and faith, larger liberal arts experience and sense of vocation. |
