General Requirements:  48 credits

25 of the total music credits must be upper-division 

REQUIRED MUSIC CORE COURSES  (36 credits)

REQUIRED PERFORMANCE CREDITS:

Individual Instruction:  6 credits minimum

Ensembles*:  6 credits minimum

*ENSEMBLES:  Six (6) credits may be applied toward the major, however, all music majors are required to be in a large conducted ensemble each quarter in full-time residence.  Participation is optional in the quarter in which a solo recital or internship is scheduled.

PIANO PROFICIENCY is required by the end of the sophomore year.  See the Music Handbook for the specific requirements.

ADDITIONAL COURSES:  See the Music Specialization Worksheets for additional requirements in each area of emphasis.

GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:  One 5 credit course in Fine Arts Core is required.  These credits must be selected from Visual Arts, Theatre, or FPA courses.

 Attendance and participation in Practicum, Studio Encounter and Forum are required.

Application should be made to the Music Chair.  Forms are available in the literature rack outside the Fine Arts Office.
