Mary Kantor, Artist Diploma Clarinet Phone: 206/281-2205 Mary Kantor received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Washington and graduated from the Academy of Music in Vienna with highest honors in clarinet performance. She has studied with David Atkins, William McColl and Rudolf Jettel. Ms. Kantor is a founding member of the Johann Strauss Trio and the Mazeltones, both of which have toured widely and have appeared on television and radio. As a soloist, she has performed the Mozart Concerto and Richard Strauss' Duet Concertino with the Philharmonia Northwest. She has also performed with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the Northwest Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Kantor serves as clarinet coach for the Cascade Youth Symphonies. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer wrote: "...her style is impeccable," and Austrian arts reporter Hedy Lachmann described Kantor's performance: "...So much musicality bubbles forth...this is sheer perfection." |

Francine Peterson
Bassoon Phone: 206/281-2205 Bassoonist Francine Peterson is an active freelance performer in the Northwest, performing regularly with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, Northwest Chamber Orchestra, Northwest Sinfonietta, and Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra. She is also very involved as member of the Marrowstone Music Festival staff, and performs in the Governor's Chamber Music Series and the Second City Chamber Music Series. Ms. Peterson serves as bassoon coach for the Cascade Youth Symphonies. She maintains a large private studio and is a frequent clinician and adjudicator. Ms. Peterson received Bachelor of Music degrees in Performance and Music Education from San Francisco State University and a Master of Music in Performance from the University of Washington. |

Matthew Schneider Saxophone Phone: 206/281-2205 Matthew Schneider, an active clinician and adjudicator in the Pacific Northwest, performs with Columbia Artists Tours, touring U.S. and Puerto Rico as a saxophonist, flutist, and clarinetist. He has been a performer at Disneyland, and has played with Steve Allen, Jon Fadis, Jamey Aebersold, The Platters, Barnum and Bailey Circus, and many others. Mr. Schneider often performs locally with the Issaquah Jazz Orchestra, The Jazz Police, Roadside Attraction, The Jay Thomas Big Band and the Tula’s Sunday Night Big Band. He is the Director of the Bellevue High School Jazz Ensemble. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Central Washington University. |
