In the 1989-1990 school year, Dennis Woodhall directed the Concert Choir and Ruthanna Metzgar directed the Women's Choir.

The choral concert season began on November 3 with the Autumn Concert. Participants were Concert Choir, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Flute Choir. Advent Vespers were held on December 3 at First Free Methodist Church. On March 9, the Concert Choir and Women's Choir presented their Winter Choral Concert at FFMC. The Spring Choral Concert was May 23 at FFMC. This concert featured the "Mass in G" by Franz Schubert. The Concert Choir, Women's Choir combined forces with the Shorecrest High School Concert Choir (Neil Lieurance, director), the Bethany Community Church Sanctuary Choir (John Mason, director) and the SPU Symphony Orchestra. Eric Hanson conducted the work with soloists Susanna Won, soprano; Jung Shin, tenor; and Brian Jacobson, baritone.
