Notes

In the fall of 1985-1986, Dennis Woodhall became the director of the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and Choral Society.

The Concert Choir participated in a number of campus concerts during the year. On November 1, the Autumn Concert was held with the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble. The "Gloria" by Antonio Vivaldi with the Concert Choir and selected members of the orchestra was presented on December 4. Eric Hanson conducted. The Winter Concert was held March 3 with the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers at FFMC. The choir's Spring Concert was May 19 featuring Haydn's "Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis Deo" and Vivaldi's "Gloria." Soloists on the Haydn were Jana Pipkin, soprano; Dan Smatlak, violin; Meta Marla Hintze, violin; and Laura Tucker, cello. Dennis Woodhall conducted. On the Vivaldi, soloists were Kathy Haight, soprano; Kim Shaw, soprano; Kim Loeffler, alto; with Elaine Yale, continuo; and Joanne Stremmler, organ. Eric Hanson conducted.
1985-1986 Repertoire

The Advent Vespers Service was presented on December 8 at First Free Methodist Church. The event featured the SPU Choral Society, the Concert Choir and the FFMC Sanctuary Choir. Together they performed the cantata "Emmanuel" by Eugene Butler.
