Notes

In 1955-1956, Lawrence Schoenhals continued as director of the A Cappella Choir and the Oratorio Society. Robert Scandrett remained director of the Choral Ensemble, which was all women voices at this time.

A change was seen in the make-up of the quartets. A new mixed quartet was created this year.

The A Cappella Choir held numerous concerts in the state and local area and toured through Idaho and Montana. According to the yearbook, "the choir is known throughout the northwest for its delightful, yet reverent rendition of sacred concert music. As representatives of SPC's unique atmosphere, the members of this organization demonstrate the fact that Christian living and zestful living go together."

The Oratorio Society rehearsed each Monday night in the Autumn and Spring Quarters. Their first concert featured the oratorio "St. Paul" by Mendelssohn. Their spring concert, given as part of graduation week activities, featured "The Redemption" by Charles Gounod.
