Notes

In the 1934-45 school year, Miss Marion Joy Stoll became the director of the choral program. This was the beginning of a significant era of growth. Miss Stoll directed the College Chorus and, during this school year, created a new mixed ensemble- the A Cappella Choir. Grace B. Soltau continued as instructor in voice and Mabel Jones Moyer became acting head of the music program.

It is unclear if the A Cappella Choir performed much in its first year and no record of a performance exists. The College Chorus presented the cantata "The Coming of the King" by Dudley Buck as their major event. Soloists were:
     Lucilla S. Warren,, soprano
     Clayton Booth, tenor
     Mary Bycroft, alto
     Frank Warren, baritone
     Geneva Jones, accompanist
Mabel Smith and Pauline Butcher, violin obbligato

The Fellowship Hour continued each Sunday afternoon on KJR. Professor Beegle served as narrator with music by the quartets, the Slingerland Trio, Miss Stoll and Philip Odle as accompanist with frequent assistance by Geneva Jones.
