Notes

Verna M. Fink took over as director of the College Chorus in the 1932-1933 school year. She had been teaching voice at S.P.C. for the two years previous. The Cascade notes the existence of the College Chorus, a men's octet, the Clarion and Victory Quartet, the Women's Glee Club, the Women's Trio and the Women's Quartet.

In December 1932, the cantata "The Holy Child" was presented by the chorus to a capacity audience. The Cascade notes " Miss Fink led the chorus through a series of sacred Christmas cantata parts, showing from the first chorus to the triumphal climax, a thoroughness and sensibility of the elements of true musical expression. The group, composed of the singers of the different groups in the College, was found to be finely proportioned as to pitch and blending of voices, and it was generally conceded that the cantata became, in the hands of the director, a piece of true workmanship." The chorus also presented "separate numbers of octavo work" on May 25 in the Spring Music Recital.

The Cascade also notes " In April, the bi-weekly radio programs were resumed over station KJR on Tuesday evenings at 8:15 o'clock, and Sunday afternoons at 4:00 p. m. Through this medium the college is enabled to reach a number of people who would otherwise know little of the work of the institution."

The Victory Quartet made several trips to Arlington, Wenatchee, Mount Vernon and National. They sang at the State Senate in Olympia and also traveled to the Yakima Valley and Walla Walla.
