Notes

E. Sylvester Weidman continued as director of the chorus along with his duties teaching bible courses. The 1931-1932 school year is best summed up with the following quotes from the Cascade:
" The enthusiastic reception given Gaul's "The Holy City", the cantata given at Christmas time with Professor Weidman directing and Mrs. Moyer as accompanist, showed the appreciation of the public for the chorus. Taking the place of the usual Easter cantata was a beautiful spring composition, "The Rose Maiden," by Cowen. This brought a fitting close to the year's program."
" An important feature of daily life on the campus is the morning assemblies. Wednesday has been designated as Music Morning, and on these days it has been customary for the Music Department to take full charge. The different phases of the Music Department were offered by various groups, including the String Ensemble and students of piano, voice and violin."
" The male quartet has continued its effective work representing the college throughout the Northwest. In Seattle, it has visited most of the churches, several high school assemblies, and many of the leading clubs. It has been necessary to form a second male quartet which has been well received. Pleasing recognition has been given to the sextet, especially for their rendition of Verdi's "The Prison Scene"."
